Overview
Some yachts are built for sightseeing. The Cornucopia Destiny was built for celebrations. She launched in 2002 as one of New York’s wedding yachts and has spent more than twenty years hosting formal dinners, receptions and milestone nights on the harbor. This New Year’s Eve she hosts a dinner cruise in NYC run the same way: seated, served and dressed for the occasion.
Two decks of ballroom, two decks of sky
At 115 feet long and 30 feet wide, the Destiny carries two fully enclosed decks of event space, about 10,000 square feet in all, and each one has its own bar and dance floor. The lower deck is laid out with long banquet tables. Upstairs, the main dining room is lined with windows, with round tables, a curved bow section and a row of tables for two along the glass, so the skyline stays in view through dinner. Above it all, a covered observation deck and an open-air top deck are where guests head at midnight to watch the fireworks over the harbor.

A dinner cruise, done properly
For New Year’s Eve the Destiny is set as a seated gala. Every guest has a reserved seat at a dressed table on Deck 1 or Deck 2, a four-course dinner is served at your table, and the premium open bar pours from the moment the yacht leaves Pier 81 at 10:00 PM until it docks at 2:00 AM. Once the plates are cleared, a live DJ takes over and the dance floors fill up for the countdown. With three bars aboard, a drink is never far away. With five restrooms, neither is anything else: a quiet luxury on a night when the alternative is a street pen in Times Square.
Who it’s for
This NYE cruise welcomes all ages, which makes it one of the easier ways to bring the whole family to the water for midnight. Couples who would rather toast the year on their own can book one of the private tables for two along the windows on Deck 2. For anyone who wants New Year’s Eve in New York without the crowds, the cold or the wait, it’s a night on the harbor with the city lit up on every side.

Boarding opens at 9:30 PM. Reserve your table, dress for the occasion, and count down to 2027 on the water. See all New Year’s Eve cruises in NYC.
